Title: Summer banner

Not to put too fine a point on it.... But from very personal experience, I know those to be African Geese, you can tell by the hard high bump on their forehead.  Some of the quickest and meanest of fowl.
My maternal grandmother raised them for many years, first as hatchlings at her home in the small village where they lived in MN. When they were of sufficient size they were moved to 'the farm' just outside the village, all of 15 acres. It was my assigned duty to water the beasties twice a day, more if it was hot.
It didn't matter, goose or gander, if they took a dislike to you, they would put their heads down low to the ground moving it from side to side like a Cobra, hiss, flap their wings, and chase you for as long as you were in sight. Mean buggers and quick to nip at a boy's bare legs, while he was encumbered with pails full of water. I truly have first hand knowledge of the term 'goosed'.
Maybe that is why I've never felt bad having a Thanksgiving or Christmas goose.
Seems I recall one of our far northern members saying 'revenge is a dish best served cold' or, at least, as left overs.

My wife can relate a similar story from her childhood about geese around the farm! I think she would support your description, and opinion of them! laughhard.gif

Thanks for mentioning that there was a new banner up at TS. In order for Chrome to show a new banner I have to right-click, show banner in new window, and hit reload several times. When I'm motivated, I do that, otherwise the same ol', same ol' sits there for months. I wonder how many pretty banners I've missed?

Try turning off the cache in the prefs, assuming Chrome has that setting. As long as your cache has stuff that is being asked for, it will always supply what's in it rather than actually forward the request to the server. If you have a very slow connection, things may slow down if you normally do a lot of page refreshes. OTOH, if it's a fast connection, you'll probably never see the difference... except fewer calluses on your fingertips. laughhard.gif

Confession: I knew they weren't ducks but I couldn't convince myself to print "TS hopes you get goosed this summer".

I just hope those ferocious geese don't find out they are being referred to as "ducks"!!! scram.gif
Do you have a way to check what's outside your doors before opening them, Bob?! eek2.gif You might want to keep an umbrella with you anytime you're outside... at least until the Spring migration is over. Thinking.gif

Bend your knees
and touch your toes,
and I'll show you
where the wild goose goes.
