Post by: adsr on February 23, 2003, 08:19:00 AM
Hi,

Got a problem whith an  IBM FIREWIRE 120 Go deskstar...... (9600 / OS 9,1)
Today a friend of minr came whith an i book and we try to plug it  to the i book firewire port but it don't show up..and  there was a strange smell, after that impossible to get it on my computer.
I think  maybe something had burned inside (open it but nothing visible...)even if  the disk seems to be running....do you see what it could be or something to do ?

Thanks for your help

Doesn't sound good. Can you take it back?

Might check here for information.

I'm wondering if there isn't something wrong with your electricity.

Do you at least have everything plugged into a Power Strip?
