Title: Amazon bans Apple and Google streaming devices

OK, some say this is just a retailer protecting their own sales, but to me it smacks of one step off monopolistic actions. After the ebook debacle, Amazon dropped several notches in my opinion and this sets them down further.
Personally, I am going to use their site for information on products and then buy them elsewhere. The no tax advantage they once had is now gone here in NJ, so it's a lot easier to say goodbye.

Pretty petty, l agree. Nobody ever said Capitalism is fair, however. Next thing ya know, Aplle will ban Flash from their iDevices! Oh... wait...

Apple TV has never played Amazon Prime on a TV (at least by my quick research many months ago - and I could be wrong), but who made that decision? Was it a mutual one between Apple and Amazon? It is the reason I didn't buy the Apple TV player. The Chromestick didn't either, so I was debating between a Roku or the Firestick, but now my TV has to be replaced and I'll get a smart TV with all of that installed, so I don't need any of them any longer.
Still, I agree that it's an odd decision on Amazon's part; but like Jim said: Nobody ever said Capitalism is fair, however.
As far the "ebook debacle" ... I think Amazon was in the right and I wish they'd held out longer. The "Big 5", and "Authors United" – they all lost me as a customer by their antics.
I know Amazon isn't perfect, no retailer is, but it's still a great place to shop and find bargains; and I'll spend my money there vs Walmart any day.

I'm trying to buy from more independent retailers these days or at least up-and-comers. Too many massive companies leaving the little guys in the dust. It's my way of "redistributing" the wealth". (Of course, Apple is excused... )
