Title: Next chapter in "Let's Dump OSX 10.2.6"

While I wait for an answer from Alsoft on Disk Warrior, and updates for about five important apps which won't work with Jaguar, I can't get Norton 8 to install. I get an error message about halfway through.  Had 6 installed on OS9, and I installed 7 on Jaguar.  The installer called it an upgrade for OS8, then quit halfway with an error message.  I uninstalled 6 and 7 and tried again, still picked it up as an upgrade and wouldn't finish installation.  I reinstalled 7, same problem. When I say "uninstall", I do not mean a FULL uninstall - I simply trashed the app icon - afraid to touch extensions, control panels, etc. and heaven forbid I try to play with pieces of it in Jaguar when I might screw things up even more! Read Symantec's tech support, checked for the BSD package, and it's there, so that is not the problem.  Anone else have a problem installing Norton 8, has anyone done it successfully??? wallbash.gif

What answer are you waiting for from Alsoft regarding DiskWarrior? I've got version 3.0 and it works just fine... so what's up?

Norton's I'm allergic to, so I can't help much there.

When the preview opens, I only get as far as the words "Scanning for drives" and then NOTHING happens - I have to force quit.

Found the answer to both Norton not installing and Disk Warrior not running - permissions needed repairing.  Someone on Mac Fixit suggested it and it worked! clap.gif
