Title: tip: printing a difficult web page
Post by: jchuzi on February 16, 2017, 05:29:59 PM
Sometimes, printing a web page results in overlapping or garbled text. A case in point is   this page at Chewy.com. Creating and printing a screenshot works, but you can't scroll down to other pages from a screenshot. I realized that a viable workaround is to go to File > Export as PDF (this is in Safari, of course). Then, open the PDF in Preview and it prints perfectly from there.

Thanks! I think I may have done that recently accidentally! blush-anim-cl.gif

A user-friendly, not to mention well designed, site will have a separate stylesheet for printing and provide a handy link to it. It's normally fairly easy to create by deleting much of the 'flashy' styles. wallbash.gif  But too many shopping sites don't want you using their info easily, as you might compare prices!!! rolleyes.gif Or they just don't want to test their sites in anything other than Exploder or it's new name Edge (I think).

Another way might be to use the "Reader" function in Safari. Of course, you'll lose all the wonderfully helpful images and ads... thumbup.gif cheer.gif

Just realized I could post over there! So I did. WOW! What a concept! But I really don't care for their forum software... Oh well, they have at least one intelligent poster, no names, of course! eek2.gif
