Title: How to upgrade G4 Ti to OS 10.2.4 from G4 PM?
Post by: MamaMoose on July 30, 2003, 07:43:34 PM
I have a Ti G4 500 MHz laptop with 640 MB RAM. Its current operating system is OS 9.2.2. I want to convert the PB to OS 10.2.3. Can I enter FireWire Target Mode so that the Laptop's folder - MiniMama apperas on my G4 Dual 1 1 GHz desktop which is running OS 10.2.4.

I then want to use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy all the OS X critical files in the   dual 1 GHZ to the laptop.

My problem is I do not have a 10.2.4 disk. I have 10.2.0 which I the must upgrade to 10.2.2 and then I can use a combined updater to 10.2.4! I figure CCC would be easier.

Possible? Probable? Pipe Dreams?

Good question MamaMoose. smile.gif

I'm not sure if Cloning the Tower to the Laptop would be ideal.

There may be elements of the OS X Install peculiar to laptops.

In the Classic OS I'd say for sure there is.

IMO. To be safest. Install Jaguar, Update it.

Then clone your Users folder from the Tower.

That's probably how I'd do it is all. smile.gif

I'm pretty sure cloning OS X to the Ti will not work.  When you install a system from an installer the installer checks what kind of install you need and puts specific link files into the system reciepts. I'd follow Kelly's solid advise, because it will work.
