Title: MP3 Player Software

I have recently purchased a Targa TMU-306B MP3 Player which comes with Windows software only. I have dragged some MP3 files from iTunes to the player and they sound just great BUT they are not linked, ie, I have to manually start each track playing. I believe I should be able to get some software to fix this little glitch. Any ideas would be appreciated! TIA. (My computer is an iMac G4 800 Superdrive running OS 10.1.5).

Is this in Tunes or the MP3 player? If it's in the MP3 player, it should be a function of that, not a seperate software issue.

Hi giantmike.....thanks for your response.

What I mean is that the music tracks won't play one after the other, after installing them in the MP3 player.

Hitting the play button results in the first track playing through and then the player goes into stop mode, so I have to hit play again, and so on.

I bought the player on eBay and the seller tells me that this is normal for MP3 players and that I need some software to "string the tracks together".

I guess if I was using a "Windows" computer, the software that came with the player would look after this.

Dennis. I looked for quite a while and found nothing.

I have never heard of that condition being common for MP3 players. Most MP3 players will play the tracks sequentially, or allow you to select random order. "String" together the tracks would make one huge file, meaning you could not easily remove or add one song at a time, and would be a terrible way to do things. What kind of MP3 player is it?

The description on the kelly-provided-links® says that it can play in random order. Might as well try that.

I can't find any good support information on the targa website.

I have tried different things, like random play, but the best I get is occasionally the first two songs play in sequence, but then the player goes to stop mode and I have to start each song from there on.

I have decided to try to return the player for a refund. My emails to the seller (hotmail address) have so far bounced back. I hope this only means his box is full! I'll keep trying.

If unsuccessful there, perhaps I can sell it to a "Windows" user.

Does it work differently with songs not added by iTunes?

Maybe it's broke?

You really do need an iPod you know.

The seller will accept return of the player for refund.

Now to decide what to get in its place.

Perhaps I'll just save my money and go back to whistling a happy tune!

 This is a no-brainer...get an iPod

The 10GB iPod is probably all you need. Check the special deals at Apple.com as they had recently the newest ones in there for about $30-40 off.

Yes, an iPod would be nice but my budget doesn't stretch to (Aus)$595 for the 10GB unit.

We, in Australia, aren't offered the great deals that you guys can sometimes get.

Shipping costs generally eat away any savings that would otherwise be made by purchasing from the US.
