Totally out of the blue I suddenly heard Siri say, "Okay, Kim, I'll ..." and on the screen is this rather long message. Before I could read it, or Siri finished speaking, it disappeared. I've checked text and nothing. No emails. No messenger messages. I verified that Accessibility / VoiceOver in settings is OFF. I have no clue what this was and it's a bit on the freaky side. How can I track this down and find out what this was?

Did you have a radio/TV on just before Siri offered to "help"?
Do you have a parrot?
Do you have ghosts?
Do you still talk to yourself out loud?! :scram:

No.

No.
Do you have ghosts?
I hope not!

Not telling.

UPDATE: I just found the email that Siri read to me. No idea why she suddenly opted to read it to me. It was 2 days old and I had already read and replied. Still finding this strange and a bit creepy.

It's a ßeta version of the new telepathy function in Mail! You will actually get emails from friends before they are sent.
Perhaps there is a keyboard shortcut that you accidentally typed? Perhaps you held the Option and space bar down a bit too long?! :dntknw:

Similar but different. Ipad 4th gen, iPhone 6 and MBP laptop all with the latest capable software (except MBP not yet upgraded to osx 10.14) All residing on a side table next to my recliner, and all in "stand-by" On 2 different occasions I have heard Siri (iPad) babbling about something. I cannot say what the "subject" she was talking about. I thot maybe the cause might be their proximity to each other, or the result of the TV sound which is across the room about 15 feet away or maybe she picked up something SWMBO said. Who knows, Gremlins I guess.

Ain’t computers fun?🤣 A lot of you are aware that Jobs, Bezos, Stephen Hawkins and Elon Musk have all cautioned about the dangers of our headlong rush to develop Artificial Intelligence. I just finished reading a book by James Rollins, “Crucible“ (fiction; he's a great writer!) that is both a lot of fun, and FRIGHTENING! This morning, I found this in the New York Times, that gives another view of that same race, that is VERY real, and just as frightening: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/25/technology/automation-davos-world-economic-forum.html?fbclid=IwAR2OQk7fwsq8MEE1PcTUA2SFjzjLauH8F25Xev0YUx4SrfVG5FPIuerEdho

Nope. iPad was sitting on the cabinet next to me. It was plugged in and charging and was not active. I still find it all strange. I find Daryl's and Beacher's examples also just a bit creepy. Maybe I need to go back to the early 1970's? Hello, does anyone have a Tardis I can borrow?
