I used the Combo updater. I walked away for my morning coffee while the update was in progress, so I don't know how long it took. The only glitch (and this happened with the 10.4.5 update also) was that the Adobe Bridge icon in the dock was was replaced by a question mark. It was a simple matter to remove the question mark and reinstall the Bridge icon in the dock.
Otherwise, everything seems to be OK.

And, as others have reported the update didn't take.
A quick search failed to reveal reports you must have seen. Got any links? :dntknw:

Installed 10.14.6 this morning. Took only 30 minutes and a half-million (I lost count) restarts. I, too, have a question mark in the dock (for MS PowerPoint). Should be an easy fix when I get a round tuit. No other issues except that my smallest backup drive is almost full now.

TidbitsTalk is one, and I don't remember the others. I read too many Mac sites, and I don't have time to search my history.

I saw reports of 10.14.5 causing problems for Adam, but nothing about 10.14.6.
As for problems on updating, it sometimes helps to quit all un-needed apps, plus disconnecting un-needed hardware, including external drives.
I tend to always use the Combo Updater (https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2010?locale=en_US) which is not what you get at the App Store or the Update Notification.
BTW...After reading several comments at other sites, I grabbed the update for High Sierra at Apple's site.
Are you talking about the usual removal of older OS versions not showing on Apple's site? :dntknw: This thread is becoming confusing...
