Title: wave file

am using  new instalatuin of Sierra on iMac os 10 .
Help please
George(did not like  High Sierra nor Mojave) I am trying to install  "you've got mail"
wave file but do not know where it should reside to be activated when I receive  new mail

They go in the ~/Library/Sounds folder.
Why not add your home Library icon to your Finder Sidebar since so many things you need to access are in there:

• Open a Finder window. Make sure the Path Bar is visible (option-command-P).
• Click the "Go" menu.
• Click the "Library" item.
• Drag the Library item in the Path Bar into the Side Bar of the Finder window.

Now you won't need to use the "Go" menu to get to your Library. :thumbup:

I think it's been there at least since Lion. Try the command-shift-L shortcut. You may also need to use Finder->View->Show View Options (or press Command+J). Enable the Show Library Folder check box and your Home Library will be visible evermore. Lastly, you can use the even less user-friendly "Go to Folder..." and type

Thanks for offering a screen capture! A picture does save lots of typing! :yes:

I think you need to use the Preview button in/near the Quick Reply box to get to the 'full' post editor. In the 'full' post editor there is a section below the entry box labeled "Attachments and other options".  Click that text(1) and you will get more text (2) allowing you to access your files and point to an image (3) (for example) that you want to include in your post.

The Library is only visible if you have made it visible - not by default, George. Follow Jim's instructions or read this (same thing but with pictures):

Three methods to place your home Library into the Finder Side Bar:

Open a Finder window.
Open the Side Bar, if it is not showing, press option + command + S.
If the Path Bar is not showing at the bottom of the window, press option + command + P.

• Try the command-shift-L shortcut.
• (I think this works in your OS) Use Finder->View->Show View Options (or press Command+J). Enable the Show Library Folder check box and your Home Library will be visible evermore.
• Lastly, you can use the Go->Go to Folder... menu item and type ~/Library/ into the text box that pops up.

After you have your Home/Library showing in the Path Bar, click, hold and drag the "Library" label/text into the Side Bar.
