Title: Nytimes website messed up on Safari

While on the main page of NYT, I may have hit some combination of keys that changed how the entire website presents itself on screen. I've dumped cache, cookies, etc., closed Safari and am at a loss of what to try next.

It isn't happening on Firefox, just Safari and it happened right in front of me as I had my hands on the keyboard so I'm thinking I hit some sort of combo that put the site in this format. Or maybe some link I may have accidentally hit on the main page changed things.
(Also, couldn't post this using Safari, clicking on Post button did nothing, had to use Firefox)

Don't ask me how, but apparently the messed up display was caused by the zoom factor for the site set at 50%.  No, I had not hit Command - or gone to View in the menu to change the setting, or to Safari prefs. I also checked in the gestures prefs to see if I had some combination of keys to change the zoom, but there was nothing there that fit what happened.


Tis a mystery.  :Thinking:

Then, there are the web site "developers" who want to use cute graphics that don't mean what they think they do. Just a couple of days ago I was trying to change the nameservers to a new hosting provider. Their instructions said to use one of two choices in a pop-up menu, which I did... multiple times. But, each time I loaded that "manage" page, I could see that my changes had not been saved! :wallbash: They always had reverted to the previous hosting servers! :Hurt:

There were a couple of very small icons/graphics at the end of the line; a tiny leeetle blue checkmark (✔︎) and an "x". No where on that page were there any buttons/text indicating any changes should/could be saved. I finally viewed a video that revealed that the blue checkmark was actually a "Save" button. Indeed, if I had moused directly over the rathe tiny image, I would have seen a 'tooltip' saying "Save".

To the GUI builders, a checkmark meant save or at least 'click me'. To me, it simply meant 'item done' or 'changed' (past tense!). :flail:
