Title: Please be patient
Post by: Xairbusdriver on November 04, 2020, 11:08:53 AM
Election returns are not typically certified for weeks after a National or even State elections. That is historical fact. There is no law stating that November the 3rd is the last day ballots can be counted. That is absurd on its face. News organizations do not certify election results, nor do the candidates.

"It ain't over till [all] the fat lad[ies] sing". :laughhard:

Please let the fat lady sing the right anthem!

One of our local health providers has some suggestions that may help us all to be patient (https://yourhealth.methodisthealth.org/blog/coping-with-election-anxiety-tips-to-make-sure-you-don-t-get-overwhelmed/?utm_source=Your+Health+Blog+Subscribers&utm_campaign=98162ce3fd-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_1a5ba5fa74-98162ce3fd-307380294) or at least a bit less anxious... even if we may not like the "fat lady's anthem".

I am very satisfied with the election. This is the first time in 28 years that an incumbent president has not been re-elected. If this post is too political for the moderators, so be it. This time, I make no apologies!  :nono:

I, for one, see no "too political" problem. You are simply stating your satisfaction in a very positive manner. Of course, I can easily be out voted. The Admins usually state their opinions and conscientiously try to avoid discontent and especially try to avoid damaging the site or any of its members.

The principle reason for having a "No Politics" policy is to avoid arguments and impolite remarks. Strange as it may seem, that is a not uncommon practice in many countries "politics".

Since apparently we can now voice political opinions that are positive, here’s mine. While I’m personally not happy with the results, I’m trusting Someone greater than any worldly ruler.

“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”—Romans 13:1

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”—1 Timothy 2:1-2

And lastly, I care for those who voted differently than I did. I hold no anger or hurt feelings. Instead I love my neighbors.
[Jesus] answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”—Luke 10:27

You are a good example, Kim.

One must be careful about quoting small, specific verses of the Bible. I'm sure you remember Paul urged slaves were to mind their masters. Of course, he was expecting some major things to happen quite soon.

If "opinions" about anything become uncivil, I trust the Admin's to use their super-powers to deal with the thread/member.

BTW, I have not even publicly mentioned how I feel about the election results. Life is more fun with a little "mystery"!

For me, it's not the differences in people we should focus on, but the similarities and let them bring us all closer together to fight the important fights together.

There were a lot of Ladies singing/speaking Jan 20, 2021. I demand a bit of equal time for three men.
I didn't see the televised Celebration of America Wed. night, so here's a very small part of it:
We Three Presidents speak (https://www.washingtonpost.com/video/politics/bush-clinton-and-obama-reflect-on-what-bidens-inauguration-meant-to-them/2021/01/20/185f3a76-722a-4aa9-86a2-20a6ddba5c8f_video.html?utm_campaign=wp_the_daily_202&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter&wpisrc=nl_daily202)

Hope that vid is accessible, I think there is a paywall. Here's the vid (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/obama-bush-clinton-unity-message-biden-presidential-inauguration/) from a different commercial outlet with it's usual ad-filled interruptions. :coolio:
