Title: Converting audio file from iPhone 8+

Audio file was created using Notes on iPhone. We saved it down and forwarded it by email to the MBP. It appeared on Mail as a small grey file which plays, but there is no way - apparently - to move it or drag it onto an app (Sound Studio) to edit it.


This was the first time we'd tried this exercise, so we were blundering in the dark; advice would be very much appreciated.  :sos:

Have you tried asking GarageBand to open that file?

First, make several (at least three) copies of that audio file.

Change the suffix of one of the copies to one the following:
You will likely be asked to confirm such a dastardly act by the ever-vigilant OS. :coolio: Do not be dissuaded! Carry On Young Mac User!!! :thumbup:

Now see if Sound Studio can be persuaded to open any of those audio file copies. Try again with GarageBand. :D

If all this fails, you should probably console Apple by buying a new 27" M1 iMac. When it arrives,
try downloading one or more of the following audio editing apps:Watch out for "In App Purchases", they often require purchasing "un-Crippling" fees. :coolio: I think these border on false advertising... by Apple!

I still have an older version of Sound Studio, used it every Sunday to edit church services. Very easy to use and bullet-proof (very important for non-computer users!).
