The business network again
we have a 5260 and a 6500, and instead of trying to add the Lexmark printer to the network (which after further questioning of Lexmark we found was imposible without a PC) we decided to get a printer that w could share between the 2 older computers (I believe we could do that with the 5260's Stylewriter II)
do any of you have, or know where I can get an older laserwriter capable of running on the printer port, and also capable of being shared over the ethernet network?
also- do any of you folks out there do any software writing, and if so, could/would you be willing to write a piece for us, an what would it cost?

You could check out ebay. I just did a quick search for "laserwriter". There are lots of choices.
I have a LaserWriter 360. It's been a great printer. I still use it regularly.

I found a 16/600 for ~$50- Is this a good deal? Do all 16/600's have an ethernet port?
thanks

You can still pick up specifications for older Apple printers on the Apple site. Try This Page
If the printer is working properly, $50 sounds like a great deal! My LaserWriter cost me almost $1400 when I purchased it in 1997.
If you can get some information on the printer, like how many total impressions it has done or if it's had major surgery of any sort, that would be helpful.

Peter. I think this is a good question for the dealmac forum.
