Title: Imac old or new?

I notice that I could buy a refurbished imac or buy in instalments a newer one?

If Apple refurbed it, I wouldn't hesitate, provided that it is of fairly recent vintage. If it's too old, you'll run into a problem updating the OS and other software because it will become obsolete sooner than later. I have that issue with my  late 2014 iMac (which I bought new as a refurb from Apple). If I want to go beyond Big Sur, I need a new machine.

Personally, I would go for the loan and buy a new iMac. Your call...

To be honest I do not like living on credit. Or by installments so I prefer to buy low. The age is not important functionality is, what are members using if I go with an iMac……

My iMac is the third Mac that I have owned, the others being a G4 and a Mac Pro. I have been completely satisfied with the iMac. The retina display is very clear and easy to see, and the performance has been excellent.
