Title: iMac OS message on the Finder

Every few days a message pops up on my old iMac OS10.14.7 (don't ask! lol)
It says "Update Apple ID Settings. Some account services will not be available until you sign in again. VIEW"

When I go to VIEW an iCloud window shows up with a button to "Continue", twice. Then I have to "enter your password to set up iCloud". After that, I have to enter my Mac Password to continue. I have no idea what this does or why. Ideas?

 :blink: :Thinking: :nono: I suggest that you never enter that kind of info into any unexpected dialog that pops up on any device. If you want/need to access your iCloud info, go directly to that space at Apple's website. Not sure what that looks like in your "System Settings" or "System Preferences" (depending on your OS version)  [Privacy & Security see image below]. Or simply use this Apple url:https://appleid.apple.com (https://appleid.apple.com)

1. What apps are running when this occurs?

2. Can you supply a screen-shot of the dialog?

This is a common situation. Running older OS  or iOS versions will often bring up that window. When there is a change in agreements with software updates they want you to basically sign in again to accept the changes. Sometimes just signing out and back in is enough for a while. But eventually they may pester you possibly to make you update or make your password better as it may not follow new requirements or they just want to verify it is really you, etc.
