I'm confused by that provision, because I've never done so, but I think my ISP may somehow charge if a second adress is used, even though a second mailbox is not.
Can someone enlighten me/clarify this?

All ISPs gives you an email account with your Internet access with the capability to sent and recieve email. And some like earthLink.net pretty much make you use their SMTP servers for sending out mail. You can set this preference in your mail program's settings, using several different email accounts, and your ISP doesn't even have to be notified, besides they don't care how many accounts use SMTP for sending email, they just care about server space for email recieving accounts.

Dan Knight provides a service to Thousands of mac users.
His problem is related to the dot com bubble burst and lower ad rates.
It's not like he's some panhandler on the streets.
I don't think He or his service are going anywhere.
