I need software for recovering photo files from a CD I made. Yesterday I was using the CD and some of the photos and today the CD is empty. The CD was locked and supposedly couldn't be deleted. I've searched the net for software for this and all I could find was Windows programs.
I'm using a Mac G3 beige desktop, OS9.2. The CD was made with LaCie RW-R machine and Toast Lite 5.0.2.
There were about 400 photo files on the CD that were transferred from the G3 several weeks ago.
Does anyone know of a software program that would work with this computer that would recover my photos?

Anne,
I was under the impression that once you burn the CD-Rom there was no way to erase it unless it was a CD-RW. Is that the case?

Anne, As Gary said, if the images were burned to the CD, the images should still be there (unless you have a rewritable CD). What may be happening is that your machine is just not properly reading the CD.
If you have access to another machine, perhaps you can see if that (other) machine will recognize the CD.
Sometimes it takes a gentle "slam" of the CD drawer to put things to right.
And of course, a most hearty
to TS!

Is there any possibility that you picked up the wrong CD?
Sometimes when you are buning your own CDs it is very easy to mix them up if they are not carefully labeled. I've done that many times.
