When I click on a download link, while in Internet Explorer, I get this message "You do not have the plug-in needed to view the "applicaiton/mac-binhex40" type information on this page. To get the plug-in now, click View Plug-in Page." I've tried clicking on the View Plug-in Page button before but it doesn't take me anywhere I need to go. Does anyone know what I need to do to correct this problem? Thanks for you help.

What is it that you are trying to download? Does the message tell you what the plugin needed is?

Hello edubs. Welcome to the Forum.

What machine? What OS? What version of IE?
Do you have some version of Stuffit Expander?
-
And can you give us a link to a site where this occurs? We can click and see what plugin is needed and/or whether our versions of IE (and our plugin folder contents) open the item.

Welcome to TS, edub!
With the type of download you refer to ("application/mac-binhex40") you will need Stuffit Expander. It's possible that for whatever reason, your Mac is not associating this file with Stuffit or that the version of Stuffit that you have is older than the one required (though I think one gets a different message in that situation).
Have a look in your IE preferences - go to Receiving Files->File Helpers and scroll through the list of file types. You should come to one called "BinHex" and it should say "Stuffit Expander" just underneath. If that's not there, then this is the source of the problem. Then you need to look to make sure that you do indeed have a version of Stuffit Expander.
Let us know the results of this bit of investigation, and then we can help you figure out what to do next in order to fix the problem.
