Title: Headed for Europe

I have not been on (the) board lately - found a great site for resurrecting  printers  Much like TS - worldwide chat help. worked for me - I saved an old LaserWriter LS and a 2500 - check it out if you have printer problems. http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/

Going to fly  to Germany via Zurich to attend My wife's class reunion - three day trip into wine country - 'oh my', they know how to do it + Oktoberfest all in one.

Well, have a good (hic!) time! smile.gif

I've used info from the site in the past - lots of good advice and how-to's. They also have repair kits available for fixing the most commonly occurring problems. The only problem is being absolutely sure of your diagnosis. In my case, the Personal Laserwriter in question probably wasn't worth spending the money on, especially as I wasn't positive which bit was causing the problem.

Coming to Germany? Great! smile.gif

Munich is on the other end of Germany, but if you come to Berlin let me know:

Munich is beautiful, too.
But don't expect too much from the Oktoberfest. The beer is overpriced and there are lots of drunken people. It's a must-see nonetheless.

Enjoy your trip! smile.gif

That site has been very helpful to me.

They have a help forum that is also reviewed by one of the techs there.

I saved an Apple Personal Laserwriter and a QMS 860 thanks to their advice.

There's also an HP only site similar to that one. They also sell used ones fairly cheap.

NOTE: FixYourOwn and the HP site only deal with laser printers.

Also note that even though their prices are fair; for personal use the cost to repair an old laser printer usually isn't worth the cost considering the low price of color inkjets these days.

But if you have a small business, it definately worth a visit!
