Saw this on techtv. OS X "widget" maker.

I've played with it a bit. I think it's a memory and processor hog and the widgets are usually so big that you really can't do anything else than watch those things, unless you have a 32" monitor.... more play than useful apps. But it looks good to show off to some PC-geek.

I liked some of the Widgets, but some features were apparently turned off. So I payed for it and it is registered. But the features were not on even then.
I'm disappointed and want my 25$ back.

I looked at Konfabulator, but did not see anything I felt was worth the risk and the effort.

On the plus side, this topic prompted a new member to post. So a hearty welcome to you Ms. Gnarlodious. A most interesting web site you have. Finally, someone around here can help with all I don't know about Spectrumology.

Hey Rachel! Welcome to TS. Another MacFixit refugee? (you are allowed to frequent both boards, of course!    )  - there are a few of us here. Ever since Ted left, MF just hasn't been the same, IMHO. I still drop in there occasionally, but mostly lurk. Anyway, you'll find a friendly, helpful bunch of people here. No political discussions, so things tend to stay on much more even keel.

The only widget that remotely interested me was the weather report widget.  I thought it would be nice having the weather on the desktop.  But it just tells you the weather RIGHT NOW, no forecast.  I can just look out the window and see the weather.
