GROUP NICKNAMES: In the past, you would type in the nickname and it would expand to show the names and the "nickname" would disappear. Now the "nickname" remains and at the end of the group there is now a semi-colon (example: NICKNAME:email1, email2; ). What is with this and how do I turn it off? I don't need folks asking me "What's XYZ?"
CONTENT CONCENTRATOR: ICK! I do NOT like this feature. I receive the "digest" for two email groups I belong to. There is nothing like have 25 messages truncated to 3. I turned this off for the preview pane; but what the heck is Multiple Messages: Profile: Terse?
MARKING MAIL READ: When you are in the preview mode, and you click on an email, it isn't marked as read. To do that, I either have to manually mark it as read, or I have to open it and then close it. PITA!
ADDRESS BOOK: Now this frosted me!
When the upgrade took place it wiped out all the info other than name and email address in one of my books!!!!!! Thirty-five folks. Now I have to input all that data again!!!!!! AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH! 
SIDE WINDOW: I don't have a side window?
Finally, the new interface has me feeling like I'm stuck in the Candyland Factory. ICK! UGH! NASTY! I was hating the old icons/color, etc ... but this is worse. I have GOT to find a way to work with Apple Mail program.

PS: On the plus side - at least those oddly coded emails that caused Classic to launch no longer do that - Eudora now moves right to Safari.

1. My group nicknames (several folks gathered together, and I use the "alias" feature so that I don't have to update their address in more than place) now show the group name followed by the actual email addresses. Rather then trying to explain what the nickanme is, I take the time to delete it. Time consuming and frustrating.
2. I reverted to the old icons and promptly lost several of them, and others don't work? Plus after all these years, I'm sick of looking at them, and had hoped for a nicer look.
3. Side window - is actually a "slide-out drawer". Found the info at the link kelly posted:

Oh well - yesterday I spent over an hour importing everything to Apple Mail, fixing and applying the imported filters, adjusting, making sure connections worked, etc. All was going well until suddenly a folder appeared out of nowhere, with the name "/". I thought I'd accidently added a blank folder and named it wrong, so I deleted it. Of course, that was the main file ... and POOF all my stuff was gone. I cried. I quit, and today I'm back to Candyland Eudora.

What are X-Eudora-Setting URLs?
-------------------------------
The Macintosh version of Eudora offers a vast number of settings and options,
far more than could reasonably be exposed in the Settings dialog box. Rather
than overwhelm most users with the myriad options, in versions of Eudora
before 4.2 Qualcomm let people use ResEdit or AppleScript to modify hidden
settings. Those techniques are still possible, but they proved too hard for
many users, plus they were difficult to explain in email. So Qualcomm came up
with the idea of an x-eudora-setting URL that users could double-click to
bring up a dialog box for changing unusual settings in Eudora 4.2 and later
(similar functionality is exposed in the Windows version of Eudora through
x-eudora-option URLs that map to items in the eudora.ini file; I don't
maintain a list of those). x-eudora-setting URLs contain the number of the
setting and optionally the value of the new setting, which makes it easy for
someone to send email with an x-eudora-setting URL and the instructions to
"just double-click this URL and then click the OK button." It makes answering
questions about Eudora much easier. For instance, if someone asked how to make
Eudora automatically save messages being composed, I could just send this URL,
which sets Eudora to auto-save every 2 minutes (120 seconds).

How do you use X-Eudora-Setting URLs?
-------------------------------------
First off, be aware that many of these settings are hidden because they aren't
necessary for most people. I don't recommend that you scroll through this
file, clicking every x-eudora-setting that looks interesting, since you may
change something you shouldn't inadvertently. If you don't understand some
setting, don't change it. I'd also suggest that you make a record of which
settings you change in case you need to revert to the defaults (which you can
do quickly by holding down all the modifier keys - Control, Option, Command,
Shift - and choosing Settings from the Special menu; note that this method
does not delete your personality settings).
That said, using x-eudora-setting URLs is simple, once you have one in a
window in Eudora. Just double-click it, and a dialog box appears, explaining a
little more about the setting, telling you what the default is, what the
current value is, and providing a field for you to enter a new value. What you
enter for a new value depends on the setting. For instance, in my example
above, the value is the number of seconds. However, if a setting has only two
possible values, on and off, y generally means on and n generally means off
(there are some instances where those two are reversed; the list below clearly
labels them). For instance, to enable Eudora to open Web browser windows in
the background when you Command-click a Web URL within an email message,
double-click this x-eudora-setting URL:

Sometimes the replacement values are more complicated. For instance, when you
create a new nickname using the Make Address Book Entry command in the Special
menu, Eudora fills in a nickname for you comprised of Firstname_Lastname. If
you're like me, you don't think to type underscores when typing names
(especially now that Eudora automatically completes the nickname as you type).
You can change that underscore to a space, so nicknames you create are easily
typed. Double-click the URL below, and in the dialog box that appears, change
the third character, an underscore, to a space, and then click OK.

Unfortunately, deciphering Qualcomm's explanations of the different settings
below can be tricky at times. If you have questions about a certain setting,
I'd recommend asking on the Eudora mailing list before you change anything.

THIS PAGE has the setting that you can individually change to alter Eudora. There must be a thousand choices there but many are from the normal preference panels. I agree that you could really screw things up if you messed around with the wrong setting.
I laughed at the descriptions some techie wrote for a few of these settings (remember this text file is from Eudora's site so they must have paid this guy).
