Title: Combining DW#3 on a bootable CD-R ..
Post by: Bill on October 12, 2003, 04:16:47 PM
with other utilities?

I have dual bootable machines.

I would like to burn a new bootable utility CD-R and add DW#3 with the others.
I meant to try doing this when I received my DW#3 but never got around to it.
I can live with using the one bootable and then [if needed] booting the DW#3 cd but.
Any ideas on the best method? Can it be done even?
Guess I'd better check if they all can fit on a CD-R! Duh

Bill, A comment, more than an answer...

It looks like the highly rated (though still Beta) shareware BootCD should work.

If you use it, please post your thoughts. Or, whatever it is you do to solve this riddle.

Hi, I got BootCd to work with DiskWarrior, the only downfall, it boots real slow, 5min to 15min.

Works good otherwise thumbup.gif

Sorry for not getting back ... hung up on the cubs game. smile.gif

Figured I'd d/ld from your link Harv but "Pacifist is compatible with Mac OS X 10.1 through 10.2.6.". I'm at 10.2.8. on all X partitions now. That plus it is beta.

Pacifist works great, Bill, even if it's a beta.  Not sure about it working with 10.2.8 thou.

But, my question is "what does pacifist have to do with creating a bootable utility CD?"

I have not tried BootCD yet in OS 10.2.8.  But it makes a great bootable CD from 10.2.6.  Only cavet, is  what Nikki said, it is slow in booting up.
