Title: PhotoShop trouble +
Post by: sandbox on October 15, 2003, 04:02:10 AM
I have recently found that PhotoShop 5.0.2 has lost some of it’s options, like import and export under file menu, save-as has only a PhotoShop option. I've reloaded the software and nothing seems to change. I get more use out of Adobe Photoshop 4.0 LE.
I rarely use this software, it belongs to the BagLady, but here and there it comes in useful, or did!

Oh while I’m here, I could use an anti aliasing (font smoother) option like ~ATM~ for a PowerBook 5300. I would like to use the 5300 for printing some brochures but the Park Avenue Font, set at 18, needs to be smoother. ATM it seems, works on machines with newer processors. I have an Older version of Font Reserve, but I’m not to sure if it has a anti-aliaser built in, or if it will work on my 5300.

Any pointers will be appreciated, Thanks  ph34r.gif

sandbox,

I'd probably just reinstall Photoshop 5.02.

Hey Gary, I resolved the ATM problem with a re-load on my PS5300 and it's printing fine. But the PhotoShop control panels are still unavailible after I reloaded the software. It's probably something I'm overlooking. wink.gif

SB, are there any items listed in the Import/Export folder in the PS Plug-ins folder? How about in the File Formats folder?

Thanks Kris, I did discover what I was overlOOking.......
The installation was loading to the wrong drive, one that’s not often turned on.
I had a back up copy in the firewire, and when it’s turned on the application works fine!
No sense in doubles, so I just took it off my IDE and will try to remember to turn the drive on when I hit the alias.! wink.gif

I’ve been printing brochures for two days on my Epson and PS5300, it seems to be doing fine. I was running out of bulk ink so I just looked around the web to see what was new in the ink world and found this site for cheap ink, I can’t refill the cartridges for as cheap as these guys sell them filled. http://www.neximaging.com    in Baltimore

Since the printing can run independently, I’ve been able to use this Brother’s 5-1 scanner and Paperport software, which is really a smooth application. I’ve must have gone through 4 or 5 different scanning apps. in the last few years, including VueScan which is sweet, but Paperport and Brothers is sweeter still.

Maybe not having to get up and feed a flat bed scanner helps as well! wink.gif

I see you found the culprit SB.

I was going to post this suggestion last night.
----
See if you have a preference called something like 'Adobe Photoshop 5.0.2 Paths' SB.
Pull it out onto your DT. Don't toss it! I could be way off my rocker. Like these guys and you might need to put it back in if so.
Then fire up PS.

But got hung up watching the ball game. smile.gif
