Title: iTunes - I Wanna change the CDDB!!
Post by: zodraz on October 22, 2003, 09:04:55 AM
Ack!

A blessing and a curse!

I'm putting my 13 CD "The Lord of the Rings" BBC radio series on my iPod.

The first 4 went great!

Popped the CD in and then iTunes checked with Gracenote and filled in the data for the tracks.

AND MORE!  biggrin.gif

It titled the audio tracks with names that weren't printed on the box!

Bonus!!!

Then I put in disk 5 and I get a window saying I ned to select the right CD title.

I pick the one that looks right (I had three choices and all seemed correct).

But this time the tracks weren't named, just labeled "Scene 1, Scence 2, etc.

I can't get iTunes to re-poll Gracenote, even if I quit and re-start.

Everytime I put the CD in, iTunes shows it with the titles I originally selected.

As a work-a-round, I put the disk in another Mac and selected a different CD which got me the track titles I wanted, which I typed into MY itTunes.

But it happened again with disk 6!

Thanks!

Not sure if you can delete one "CDDB" info for just one CD sad.gif
I searched for it on iTunes, but the only way is manually change the cd track names... but than off course you need to know the names first.
Can't you find the tracknames online? (manual search).

When iTunes checks for track titles, it goes to this site:

http://www.gracenote.com/music/

You might be able to go there and check on the disk yourself.  It's a pretty neat site.

I hope I understando what you want.  smile.gif

Put one more time the CD in the drive.
Select the CD in the source column.
Then from the menu in iTunes>Advanced>Get DC Track Names.

And you should have again the window asking: "select the right CD title"

Thay's just what I was looking for.

I tried to phrase that question in the "help file" but didn't get anywhere.

I did a work-around by putting the CD in another Mac an choose one of the other titles, writng down the right ttiles and manually editing my playlist.
