Don't worry about Billy G. He's still on top with $40.7 Billion.

Jobs is 236 with $1.7 Billion.

Anyway, was just going to say that it's "only money"... "Money doesn't buy happiness" ... and don't forget, "The best things in life are free."
How much of his money, energy and intellect have been spent on lawsuits, fighting with everyone from the government on down? I do not envy him.

The average US private sector worker makes $276,000 per year? Did not realize I have been out of the work force for so long.
Or is this the case of averaging one person making $1,000,000 together with three others making $35,000?

Lorraine. When I first posted this it had problems so I deleted it and reposted.
Thanks for the information.
I wouldn't care to be Bill G., even with all his money.
Don't you think MS has some responsibility for those "problems"?
-
Dave, you haven't been out of the workforce that long!
kelly, I thought he was MS!
-
Yeah. Bill G. MS whatever.
I just thought you made it sound like people were picking on him for no reason.

WAAY more. Since the federal min wage is only $5.15 they would make a little over $10,000 (assuming a 5 day work week, two weeks vacation and Federal holidays off).
However if you live in Alaska or SantaFe you might come closer to that figure.
SantaFe min wage (you may get a popup asking for generic info before proceeding...just make it up and click GO)
Your state's min wage
After looking at that map I understand why many companies have relocated to the South.

kelly, I was pointing out that Bill Gates, with all his billions, spends his time fighting with the government and other companies. That must drain a lot of energy & time he could be spending on more productive & pleasurable pursuits. Although one might guess that fighting to "crush out" all competition is his greatest pleasure. Pretty sad, really.

Not so easy! They wouldn't accept that I was born in 1090 and my zip code was 10000! They asked for a legitimate year & zip code! That 's sort of scary! Well, they didn't question my birth year as "1990" or zip code "10020" but I wonder if someone will come knocking on my door...!

Lorraine. I'll bet Bill has spent entire minutes worrying about his legal problems.
They have a staff of lawyers that do that. Probably equal to some States Budgets.
If you'd read or seen video about his testimony you'd understand.
"During Bill Clinton's grand jury testimony, his greatest line was: "That depends on what you mean by 'is.' " But in his own taped testimony, Bill G. makes Bill C. look like an amateur, pretending not to know the meaning of words like market share and we, and denying that he wrote e-mails bearing his signature."

His arrogance is partly what led to their problems.
I honestly think Gates is a Genius. Not in software and such but in a marketing sense.
I think he has to be compared to Napoleon. And with a similar ego.
And in the Six degrees of seperation mode. I knew a guy who worked on his $97 million house.

Mug Shot
Well, I'd sure like to know what happened here?? I guess he got his legal education early! Is this a legitimate mug shot, or a joke? He is smiling, after all...

Running a red light apparently.

If you want a TV version of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs early lives you could rent The Pirates of Silicon Valley.

Lorraine , I put in that I was born in 2000 and they accepted it.
Guess that proves how easy Macs are to use.
Any toddler can surf on one.

Kris, the housing market in Santa Fe is one of the highest in the nation. Like other resort communities the labor force lives elsewhere. Santa Fe being so isolated, where the closest reasonable housing market is in Albuquerque 50 miles+ away it’s very difficult to retain service workers who need to commute the distance up the mountain side in winter for 5 bucks an hour. The only other option is reservation land, where a large % of the service industry finds a labor pool, but that's only accessible to the tribal folks themselves.
