In /Applications/Utilities, I have a folder called Asia Text Extras. Since I see absolutely no need for these data, is it OK to consign them to the trash? BTW, what are they for anyway?
Now, if only Panther contained Hot & Sour soup, General Tso’s Triple Delight, …

Yes, they can comfortably be trashed. If you need to do a reinstall ever, just go to customize installation and you can omit installing all the extra forreign language fonts and a ton of extra print drivers as well.

Bill. I was fairly certain it was OK, but, OTOH, why not check? As some may tell, I am (usually) the beneficiary of more than one arrow as a result of my Pioneer spirit, AKA, "Fools rush in..."
But, of course,

The easiest way to remove the extra baggage (over 1.5 GB) that is installed for foreign language support is the run DeLocalizer.
Yep, it works in Panther.

Bruce. When I did the Archive & Install, I opted to not install the foreign fonts and languages. Still, running DeLocalizer removed (another) 873 MB for me. As far as I'm concerned, that's just less font stuff to get corrupt. Glad I did it.
