Title: Mac Wont Shut Down
Post by: MamaMoose on March 05, 2003, 12:34:00 AM
When I am ready to shut down , I either go to the menu bar and select "Shut Down" or I use the Control-Eject key combination. Most of the time I get a system hang with the pointer being able to move but there is no way to select anything.

I then have two choices: 1) hold the Start button the the Mac for a few seconds until the compter turns off or 2) press in the reboot button on the Mac just below the start button.

When I reboot, everything appears to be OK.

I am running in OS 9.2.2 on a dual 1 GHZ with 1.5 GB of RAM.

Any ideas? Thanks,

MamaMoose

I'd start by checking all cable connections. Then, pull a cable and substitute another one. Verify that all cables in use are good. Good luck!

Also. Just the usual troubleshooting.

Does it shut down ok with OS Base or All?

Trash Finder Preference, OS Preference.

Run Disk Utilities.

Have you just installed some Software? Added Hardware?
