Oh nuts.... asking a Windows question on a Mac board.... But I know I will get a knowledgable answer.

I am setting up an old PC (Pent. I 200MHz) I have to give to a friend. It is running Windows 95 Plus. But, it doesn't have a web browser loaded.
I was trying to find a download for IE or Navigator to install on the computer. But am having no luck finding an older version for Windows 95.
IE site says they are not allowing downloads for older versions (95 compatible) and Netscape don't even list one anymore for 95.
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Al,
Try this link. I would recommend version Netscape 4.07. I remember those win95 days and back then IE was totally worthless.

Al,
You might also consider giving Mozilla 1.5 for Windows a try.
Mozilla 1.5 is a whole lot more current (released October 15, 2003) than Netscape 4.07.
I have run Mozilla on machines slower than the recommended speed. It works - it is just not as fast Mozilla on a faster machine.
System Requirements for Mozilla 1.5 (Windows version):
* Windows 95, 98, or 98SE, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows XP
* Intel pentium class processor (233 MHz or faster recommended)
* 64 MB RAM
* 26 MB of free hard disk space
Let us know how it goes -

Al... I ran Win95b for the longest time and never had a problem at all with 32-bit programs... I had NS4.76 on it. That version of Win95 came with IE3.x, which I agree with Diana was really bad... but I think it should be upgradeable to IE4 or 5, M$ may not be making it easy to find a full d/l of that anymore since they dropped support of Win95.
Check here: http://sillydog.org/narchive/
They "say" you can run NS7.1, but have a look in the release notes and make sure the "machine" meets the requirements, this guy does up several custom versions of NS. My machine is a P2 233MHz.

Thank you, Diana, Epaminondas and DB... Really appreciate it.
Burnt a copy in ISO 9660 format and will give the disk to my friend tomorrow.
Happy Holidays!
