We know of Steve Jobs and Wos... but how about Susan Kare? Anyone know what she did?
Yes, she did all the icons and the fonts used in the first Mac OS. She has an impressive portfolio and clients that no one would snear at.

Thanks for sharing it.

Good to see you again CP! You have been missed.
Thanks for the link. As you said, quite the talent and a most impressive resume.

Yes indeed.
She was a very important person for the Macintosh GUI.
Among other things, she designed the famous DogCow Clarus (in the Cario font).

Cool.

Hey Petra. I bought a Pismo 500.
I was looking for some Pismo info and turned up a macfixit Thread from 2000 or so.
You were there of course.
Just thought that was interesting.

kelly, yeah I feel old now... hahaha. I still hang at MacFixIt but not as active. I only answer a question if I think I can and I also keep myself updated and try help others on other web forums (Swedish).
My old Pismo 400 is in parts more or less so I'm enjoying my PowerBook Titanium (the last one) now. But even that had problems in the beginning.

Very interesting. I see she has her icons on products at the CafePress stores like we do.
To me, most interesting bit of trivia from her bio interviews...
What was the thick, heavy Chicago font originally called?

Was just reading the MacWorld Secrets book.

They were talking about the Keyboard.
They mentioned how Kare and someone else finally used the Swedish Sign Symbol.
-
kelly, yeah it's the road sign for "rarity"

Pogue wrote "remarkable feature". But then he doesn't speak Swedish.

Said you can produce it by CONTROL- Q in Chicago Font.
I just did it in Appleworks but can't produce it here.
