Just installed an 8 gig IBM drive in my Wallstreet. Also bumped up the RAM this morning to 320 MB. I'm assuming the HD came with wiped clean because upon startup I get the question mark. When I insert the Jag CD, the happy Mac appears and the colored wheel arrives and spins and spins, but that's it. After a few minutes the screen goes dark, but the HD is still spinning away. Is there a button combo I'm forgetting to push to make it boot from the CD?
OK, disregard the whole first paragraph. In my typical haste, my Jag CD was misplaced and I was trying to boot with a 10.1 update CD. Jag was starting to install, but it can't find a destination disk. Can I use an OS 9 CD and run Disk Tools to format the drive?

You can probably use the OS 9 CD. Depends what kind it is.
Format the Drive to Extended Format.

You're right kelly. I used an OS 9.1 CD and used Drive Setup to make 2 partitions, both HFS Extended. Now we'll see how Jag goes, it's in the midst of the install now.

Well, it's up and running. Used Drive Setup from an OS 9.1 CD to initialize and partition the new drive and then installed Jag.
The only other thing after that was going to www.sourceforge.net to download a beta driver for the Wavelan PC card for the wireless and then configure the network prefs. Good place to go if you have a non Apple wireless card for free drivers. I had to do a search of TS, I found the linke to Sourceforge that kelly provided some time back.
Now it's time to load 9.2 onto the other partition and we're set!
