Post by: () on February 03, 2003, 10:40:00 PM
I ordered a 256mb of ram for my iMac G4 FP.

It's model number is  KVR-PC133SO/256-R

will this work on my imac G4 FP?

This is listed as Notebook memory, not for a desktop.

Check ramseeker.com for Mac memory prices.

The flat panel iMacs have two memory slots.  One is not designated as user accessable.  This slot takes standard SDram.  The user accessable slot takes any PC-133 SO-DIMM up to 2" in height.  So Dimms are usually used in laptops, which is probably why that number reads as notebook memory.

on the iMac G4 flat panel, it does use two differant types of ram, one is 168 pin and the other is SODIMM 144 pin (user slot) which is notebook ram.

Thanks for all the input guys...
