Title: Move Large Files to Your Compact Mac
Post by: kelly on April 18, 2003, 11:38:00 PM
Cool. For old macs with Floppies only.

"SplitIt! is a great shareware program that allows you to split a large file into smaller files and to put them back together again.  Many collectors face the problem of not being able to get files larger than a 1.4 MB disk (or 800 KB disk) into their 68K compact Macs.   SplitIt! is one possible solution to this dilemma."

This looks great!  I used a crossover cable and successfully transferred a great number of files from my beige G3 tower to my Performa 6205CD -- but then I had trouble retrieving my connection to my web browser.  Eventually it worked, but I had to reload my AOL software.  I have been too gunshy to try it again, even though I have more files to transfer.  This sounds like a perfect answer, and the user responses all seem very good.  Thanks, kelly!

Stuffit Deluxe has always had this feature.
