Love BBC Radio 2, on as I write - where else would you get Willy Nelson with City of New Orleans, Buddy Holly's Rave On, Carly Simon's You're So Vain, Michelle Shocked, ELO, and Shania Twain and.... tell you what, I'll link you to Tuesday's playlist for the breakfast show to see the variety we get. Other programmes give us everything from classical to country, big band jazz, blues (station jingle used to be 'different every time')

I LOVE Michelle Shocked. Wore out a couple of her tapes. Saw her once...what a smile. Glad to know someone else has heard her.
-
I rarely listen to the radio, as radio stations don't tend to play the music I like.
I listen primarily to industrial music (Numb, Nine Inch Nails, Aphex Twin) and old-school goth (Sisters of Mercy), with a bit of neo-folk (Holly McNarland, Indigo Girls), thrash (Disturbed), alternative and grunge, and electronica thrown into the mix for good measure.
-
I'm in a Jazzy mood right now, have fallen in love with Diana Krall and am listening to 4 of her albums. Great music!
I listen to different music depending on what mood I'm in, sometimes it's disco pop, sometimes it's metal rock... that's the great thing with music, there's always something for different moods.
-
Snuffy The only one we seem to hear from Michelle over here is Anchorage - great song though!
Tacit A friend of Caroline's is in a goth band called Scary Bitches (I've met her and she is.... not the least bit scary. Very nice woman). Not my sort of music - but each of us to our own... I appreciate there are different types of goth music, just as in rock and jazz, so I don't know whether they play your preference.
Petra Not too much into jazz either but, having said that, one of my favourite all-time albums was Charlie Byrd's Blues for Night People - very chilled out guitar sound which really lived up to its title. Hadn't realised it was such an old recording till I found that link!! I bought it in the early 60s and still drag it out occasionally to play in its glorious mono...

I checked out the Web site; not really my cup of tea. They're closer to death metal than I really like; there are several other bands (such as Christian Death and Big Electric Cat) in the same basic genre, and I'm not particularly crazy about any of them.
Side note: Someone at Adobe is rather fond of Big Electric Cat--so much so that it was the official code name for Photoshop 5 during development.
-
Y'never know about people -- I wouldn't picture tacit with a cup of tea.
-
I'm quite fond of tea--particularly dark, heavy teas like Russian Caravan, though such teas aren't always easy to find.
I don't like flowery teas such as Earl Gray, but I am quite partial to English Breakfast tea.
-
Jasmine for me.

Vanilla Maple.
Hmm, maybe our choice in teas is a reflection of...of...of...
Oh, heck, probably nothing.

I couldn't survive without my tea! Can't drink coffee anymore - it gives me stomach aches, though I still like it.
I like English Breakfast, good old Orange Pekoe (but PLEASE no Salada...worst blasted tea on the planet...and it's always what they serve on airplanes) - pretty much any black tea. I don't like the fruit flavored black teas much or herbal teas, with a few exceptions (I've had a few good raspberry/cranberry teas). A good green tea with Chinese or Thai food is always nice. Of course, so was the Thai beer I had last time we went out!!
Well, I'm off for a cuppa - gotta do something to stay awake, since it looks like I'm not going to get any shut eye at all tonight - we're off to the Bahamas in an hour! See you guys in a couple of weeks, unless I get TS-withdrawal and decide to log in from our rental house! (maybe I'll even post a pic or two... ) Taking the digital cameras, husband's Lombard (for kid entertainment, primarily) and leaving all my work AT HOME! I think.

Like CyberPet, I find myself listening to more jazz vocals these days. I've recently discovered Jimmy Scott and have made several CDs of his material.
Have you also listened to Etta James or Cassandra Wilson?
My two faves: Mister Dylan and Mavis Staples. Recently read that they have been in a studio together.
I have made my own collection of Dylan's stuff: 15 full CDs of his work, 4 CDs of his songs done by others artists. I'll be adding to the latter since I just got CDs by Barb Jungr & Mary Lee's Corvette which are all Dylan covers.
My iTunes library currently has 3400+ tunes.

krissy, the first time I had maple tea was in Montreal 2 summers ago... LOVED it! I forgot about that. By the way... what DOES that tell about me??? (Oh, if God the gift would gi' us, to see oursel's as others see us...)
sandy, I don't know what that picture has to do with tea, but it sure is cool!! I want to download it, okay?
paddy, can I come visit you at your rental house? We're very neat and clean, quiet, and if you prefer, you don't even have to be there!

Good Morning America (and the rest of the world of course), how are you?
It's what I just love (and I'm being sincere here, not sarcastic) about TS - where else could a thread on favourite radio stations turn into a thread on what people like to drink without someone complaining?
Anyway - tea, Sainsbury's Red Label tea bags... coffee Kenco "Really Rich" instant... (Pretentious... moi? as Miss Piggy said)
Also the new banner... very red!

Whatever happened to Tetley. Not a tea drinker, myself.
-
It's still around in in the UK and also, apparently in the USA too.

Hey, TACIT, I know there's a pretty big difference in our ages (I'm a bit "beyond" you, lad!), but one of my students dropped by last night and gave me the new Linkin Park album, Meteora, to listen to, and I LOVE it! Being a guitar teacher keeps stretchin' my ears, but for some reason, although I worked for 6 yrs. in a CD store, and am aware of your "faves", I've never been exposed to them, aurally. Have to admit to being severly disappointed Tuesday, when I slipped by Circuit City to pick up the new ZZ Top album, Mescalero, only to find that it's release had been delayed. Next one I'm anticipating is the June realease of Metallica's newest. . .Weird taste for a cat that's almost 60, eh?
And, HIGHMAC, you might check out Kenny Burrell, if you haven't already, although you might want to shop in a place where you can listen before you buy, because he plays with everything from a jazz trio, to full orchestral backings. Quite a library. . .
PETRA, you might want to check out 2 albums of Ronnie Earl's, called "Still River" and "Language of the Soul". He's an incredible blues player, in a jazz setting. . .guitar, bass, Hammond B-3 organ and drums. Wonderful stuff for sitting with a glass of wine, and watching the rain or snow!

My girlfriend Shelly just turned me on to Linkin Park...good stuff.
