Hi,
Does anyone know how I can get my B/W G3 300 MHZ to work with a DVD Rom Player that I bought from a used G4 400 MHZ (used). It works in OS 10.2.5, but not in OS 9.2.2.
My system profiler says...DVD-Rom drive
Driver Version 1.4.8
Vendor Hitachi
Revision # 016E
Product ID DVD-Rom GD-7000
I have tried to install DVD player 2.7 and it won't work, but in OS 10.2.5 with DVD Player 3.1 it runs good. I need it to work in OS 9.2.2 as well so my kids don't paly around on Os X

Check out this site and fill in your Data.

Found this there that may or may not apply.
"There is a patch needed for the player (and you have to make sure you have a Rage128 or Radeon graphics card but the B&W G3 shipped with a Rage128 so that would work). See the FAQ's DVD section, the question on DVD patches and utils has a link to the "think different" site that has the patch."
"Also make sure you have none of the original B&W G3 DVD 1.x player extensions installed (they require the hardware DVD decoder daughtercard that was an option for the original B&W G3s with DVD)."
Check here under DVD.

Thank you Kelly for the info/links I'll check them out., but I forgot to include that my B/W G3 300MHZ also has an ATI 7000 PCI Video Card and a Sonnett ATA 100 PCI IDE controller card. Will this affect the DVD Patch and not let it work?
