TV motoring programme over here last night featured a jet-propelled kart setting a world speed record of 143mph. Bet it felt faster sitting that close to the ground .
The jet engine was described as "a starter motor from a Phantom..."
If you want to know more, check out this link for video clips (RealVideo). Personally, I'll stick with jet engines attached to large aircraft.

Now that was insanely ! Thanks Highmac...
I like fast, but sitting so close to the ground only enhances the rush. I would not pilot that...
Even my wife came by and said, "Is that a GoKart? That guy's crazy!"

Al, how fast can you go on that G4?

That's Nothin!.What world record?. Here in St. pete FLA years ago we had a Fishing Boat Captain in a solid propelent rocket powered Go-Cart go over 200 MPH in the Quarter mile. No drive to the wheels but would smoke the tires. The acceleration was so fast the wheels could not keep up. He had to quit because his innards where going into his chest cavity. How about it Sandbox, do you remember that at Sunshine Speedway in Pinellas Park , or was that before your'e Time?.

Gregg, I never test drove my G3 Funny car. Seems to low to the ground...
