Thank you RobW.    Can't get over the speed of this - I'm in Uk and you I think are in the States?   Thank you also for your sensible suggestions.  I will remember that.

I'm using an iMac OS 9.2 and I love it.  Certainly seems a lot easier to use than my friend's PC with all its menus and right click- left click.

I think you are right about the Mac community too.  Thank you for the welcome.

 I've finally managed to get here!!!!     Love the Smilies but have never yet found a way to use them on my iMac for ordinary e-mails.  Please can you tell me how?

While I'm on the subject -  I'm a Newbie to computers.  I love using my iMac.  While there are many computer courses advertised I have not been able to find one specifically for Apple Mac.  I'm always told that Macs are so simple you don't need lessons.  That's true to a certain extent - I'm completely self taught and doing okay, but I have this sneaking feeling there are many more things available which I have not yet discovered.   This is all a gigantic learning curve for me.
