2007 / Trouble using Disk Utility !

You hit it right on the nail....I deleted them by mistake trying to make room as my disk was getting full and I couldn't get a new one at the time....

Now I have 0s10.4, but only have the CD for Tiger....I moved temporarily, and my disks are at home, and I will be unable tyo get them for another few months..That might be an issue..on reinstalling the packages, dont you think ?

Hi,

I have a G4 Dual 500, 1 Gig Ram, running OS 10.4.11é  

When I try to run disk utility to repair permissions lately, it tells me :

Utilitaire de disque a interrompu autorisations de réparation sur “Documents & Applications” car l’erreur suivante est survenue :

Aucun paquet valide

Réparation des autorisations pour “Documents & Applications”
Erreur : Aucun paquet valide


Réparation des autorisations terminée

Which basically means that it interrupts the process because there are no valid packets....

I updated to the latest OS to see if that would solve the issue, and no, I stll get the same thing.  However my computer dooes work wonderfully besides that !

Any clues ?

This may sound silly but have you tried not putting the disc in until Toast asks for it?
With my burner if I put the disc in before asking the software to start the burn it will eject the disc as if there was something wrong with it. If I then reinsert the disc into the drive it will merrily go ahead and let me choose the setup for the burn, etc.

Just thought this might be your situation.

2006 / Mac wont recognize blank DVD

Hi, I am running a G4 Dual 500, OS 10,4,7, 1.12GB RAM, with a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR103, and Toast 7.1

I work as a paramedic and firefighter, and sometimes I bring my computer in the ambulance at night to watch dvd's when its slow.  However, I hate to bring my real copies (I scrached 4 in the last 2 months), so I decided to rip them using MacTheRipper.

Anyhow, ripping them was ok, but when I try to burn them on Maxell DVD-R 16x 4.7GB SP Mode disks, it sees teh recorder, gives me the Status: Waiting, and simply ejects my disk as if it does not recgnize it as a writeable device.

I even bought Popcorn 2, and it gives me the same woes.

Can anyone help me figure this one out please ?

Ok...here are a few thoughts:

1) Zune ?  Who ever came up with that name ?  Marketing flop.

2) The product isn't out yet, but they announce it, with yet a study undergoing 7 or 8 possibilities for using wifi connection ?  Hello ? Seems to me as you do your homework BEFORE announcing your product.

3) Havent figured out licencing issues yet...Good luck,  might take lots of times for copyrights lawyers to get down and figure things out.

2006 / Canon SD 450 and OS 10.4.7

As it turns out, I had no access to a card reader.

However I had 2 IDE drives plugged in, I unplugged my slave and Voila, I was able to see my camera....

Weird but it worked.

2006 / Canon SD 450 and OS 10.4.7

Hi,

I have a G4 Dual 500 running OS 10.4.7, and I tried to download pictures taken on my friend's Canon SD 450 digital camera.  She was able to do so simply connecting her camera through USB on her iMac400 running os 10.3.x

Well My computer wont recognize the camera when plugged in directly to the USB port.  Reading on Canon's site, they do not support OS 10.4 and suggest a card reader (which I do not have and cannot get to right now).

Anyone has a clue as to alternatives I may have here ?

2003 / iBook Battery life: Guarantee issues

Hi all,

Does an iBook's battery less than 1 year old covered ?  A friend's 700 bought las December was told by Apple hers is not since, even though she bought it less than one year ago, the manifacturing date is over 1 year...

This does not make sense to me !

Any idea ?

Hi,

a friend is thinking of getting an iBook 800 with combo drive, floor model (too bad I just sold mine  )

Anyhow, the problem is that the store lost the key for the lock that was locking it to the display case. They are offering a cheaper rate, as they cut the cord, but the small lock is still attached to it. They tried to saw it off, no success...

Anyone knows whathe can do ? Sugestion ? Price ? How much would you discount for it ?

All for 800$ US, non negotiable.

Located in Montreal Canada, but often go to the Lake Placid area and white mountains (Vermont) for hiking.  Willing to deliver within those areas as well !
