So I produce a picture file from a nikon 5200 DSLR and save it on the SD disk, a DVD, and a thumb drive as a .jpg, .psd, and a .pdf to cover all of my bases and what happens, no retail store is able to read any of the the files?  Of course all the weird data and antique picture files on the thumb drive show up but other than that not the file produced from PSEelements 12 on a MBP mid 2009???!!!

Can anyone shine some light on this matter?

joe

Greetings and thanks for your input on the post!
 The scenario went like this:

Looks like it was equipment errors at the labs that I tried that were at fault!

A heart felt thanks went out to Danielle at the Sam's that went out of her way to get the printing done for my unique needs.  She even went as far as trimming them for me.

Tech / Screen mirroring issues

From what I can tell, this is an ongoing problem: https://discussions.apple.com/message/25795546#25795546

Various solutions - nothing definitive, but worth a look. You may just have to downgrade to 10.9.2 (did it work with it? Or did you make a bigger leap to 10.9.3?)

Thanks for your reply! toothgrin.gif

It was determined that the update which caused the issue was definitely 10.9.3.  And I don't recall going to 10.9.2.  All of the sudden 10.9.3 showed up.

What other means are available to connect a screen/tv/projector to this machine?

Tech / Screen mirroring issues
« on: June 12, 2014, 09:57:52 PM »
Greetings All!

I am having issues with my mac book pro mid 2009 when I upgraded to the 10.9.3 OS.  Issue symptoms are/were slow key stroking and no screen mirroring available to connect to any external TV projector screen at all.

The following steps were recommended by Mac:
1- Back up all files to an external disk, using the time machine feature, in order to prepare for an erasure of the 500 GB HD on the machine
2- Reload the 10.6.3 OS from the disk to try help establish connection to an external display source

Issues with the software included the machine repeatedly asking for a PW in order to log in
Recommended that I reset/create a new PW from the Utilities tab to eliminate the PW issue from the start up 10.6.3 disk

To no avail, many days went by in playing with this recommendation and the system kept asking for a PW

Went to a local store where they were also having issues in getting into the machine to resolve the PW issue.  The tech eventually connected to the company's network via ethernet connection and had to reset the entire system.  After this was successfully completed we did make a connection to a display in the store.  When I got home a connection was made to both screens and then after an OS upgrade was made the screen mirroring feature was lost again.

Any suggestions?   Thinking.gif

Thank you most kindly.

2007 / How to clear Google searches?
« on: November 30, 2007, 10:04:47 PM »
That's a cute tip using the magnifying glass to clear searches.  However, I have found that when you go to the Google search page & when you type the first letter of a previous search, guess what, the history shows up with whatever searches were performed even after "clearing" up the menu.  Totally unavoidable??? And that could be an embarassing situation. whistling.gif

2007 / How to read a DVD made on a PC?
« on: April 09, 2007, 07:03:47 PM »
I had to buy an OS upgrade (tiger from panther) after my original combo drive was replaced and the cd would not read on the new drive.  The geniuses at the bar concluded that for some reason a driver appeared to be missing.  I am not convinced to that explanation since I had read it previously on an older G3 beige?????

Best of luck.

Is there an Apple reference regarding booting an iMac running 10.4.9 from a 250 gig ext HD running 10.3(Panther).  The iMac didn't boot up from the external as I was trying to demo a video for our school. wallbash.gif

« on: May 28, 2006, 11:57:49 PM »
Speaking of fonts.

Is it legal to use fonts on our computer for video productions for TV?

Our church has asked me to be the video producer and I was told that certain music themes were copyrighted & therefore are not to be used for the video production.

What is the deal with fonts though? Are they copyrighten as well? dntknw.gif

I am still waiting for a new Mac since '84!!

Hope to get one next year for the 20th Anniversary versions!  Can't hardly wait to get all of the system software discs, unopened; manuals; feel and smell the new box; not having to worry about if it will work when I get it home; calling Mac reps to ask for help with a product still in warranty; not worrying about getting the proverbial "The application quit due to incompatible operating/processor issues."

In fact I wouldn't mind having a new Mac w/a single processor.  Maxed out with RAM/HD etc.

Yep, still waiting whistling.gif

I need to use the same phone line simultaneously with two 'puters mentioned above via a wire connection (secure and $ reasons) for internet use.  What is involved in doing this?

Both 'puters have the ethernet jacks installed in them.
