Hi Jay,
Very nice job! :-)

I believe the difference you are seeing in file size is because of the way the Mac files have two forks - the data and the resouce forks. When you upload them to a server, the resource fork is stripped away. This leaves you with a smaller file size.

I could be mistaken, but if memory serves, this is what you are seeing in your file sizes.

2003 / Installing USB port via PCI expansion card for Power Mac 860

Hi kmack,

A PCI USB card will work fine.

I believe you need to be running Mac OS 8.6 or above to have USB functionality.

2003 / making PDF w/hyperlinks?

Hi Thomas,

I did some looking around as well.
It seems the only way to make a pdf with hyperlinks is to have the full Acrobat version from Adobe.

Just a thought - would distributing your page of hyperlinks work if you saved the file in Appleworks as an html file? The html file would probably be smaller than a pdf file and it would be cross platform as well. In addition, your students would already have their browser open to view this file, so all they would have to do is click on the link to open a new window.

Hi!
Thanks guys. I am glad to be back online and (hopefully) helping people with Mac problems.
From what I have seen so far, Tech Survivors seems like a very cool place for old and new Mac users to hang out and help out.

Like Mrious_be said, several years ago I use to be a "regular" in Yahoo chat with him, John K, Vijay, William and others. Needless to say, those days are long over. Anyway, it is great to be here! :-)
