2003 / Roxio Toast 5 back-up attempt roadblocked

Thanks Gary

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that making a backup DVD would be such a chore.

Now I have to get out my computer "what is this?" book and find out what a "disc image" is.

Somewhere in one of these forums, I read that Apple is no longer the "drag and drop" computer system. What an understatement.

What a difference it is being all alone with these problems compared to my pre-retirement when we could call the "help desk" and a specialist would set everything straight.

I went to the CCC site and this is what I found

CCC really just isn't the right tool if you're trying to backup to a CD.  The primary target audience is people that are trying to move stuff from one machine to another, from one hard drive to another, or trying to backup regularly to an external firewire hard drive.

Thanks Kelly

I think that you are correct, I must be the only one here with the hp d135 printer. I feel that way when I look for ink cartridges at WalMart or Target. Always looking to save a few cents.

I have downloaded the latest update for this printer, but as the hp site says, this driver is for 10.2.

So, until hp, or someone else definitely says that it's Panther compatible, I'm holding off the install. It's not on Apples compatibility list either. I use the printer every day and it's the only one I have.

Geez, this is getting to be a pain.

The Roxio Toast 5 Titanium user manual didn't mention that little fact.

Their support team suggested that I remove that offending file from the burn list.
That it must belong to "root" and that I wasn't permitted to copy it.

I guess nothing is as easy as it's purported to be.

Thanks for the answer to my problem.

I've been posting to numerous other forums for days, and you are the only one that answered me.

Thanks again.

java script:emoticon('')
First time user of Roxio Toast 5.
Don't know the next step after attempting a burn a back-up on a DVD and I got this message:

"The file 'DSLDAPPluginConfig.clpi' could not be accessed. (Data fork, -5000)"

What is the significance of this file? Why couldn't it be accessed?
Do I "remove" this file from the folder that I want to burn?
What do I have to know about files that can't be "accessed?"
Where is the "hard disc cache" that these folders are copied to during the process of burning?
Is it necessary to routinely empty that cache folder?

Hello

Just found this forum and a topic on printers.

I've been sitting on the fence, just looking at my Panther discs since Oct. 25th, waiting for anyone to say that they haven't had any trouble with their hp d135 printer after updating to Panther from 10.2.8.

Is there anyone that fits that description, and how did your update go?
