Tech / phone calls in France

Hi,
I have a friend going to France. He says he will be able to make phone calls and check the web with an ipod Touch.  Does this make any sense?  What do most people do?  Thank you.

Tech / FM car transmitter for iphone

Hi,
To listen to iTunes in my wife's car via the cars speaker system, I use an FM transmitter.  Although some podcasts are easy to listen to others such as This American Life are almost inaudible.  I wonder what FM transmitters members of the forum have liked the best.  Thank you

Hi,
My wife uses a Jeopardy template via powerpoint to teach students.  My wife uses her own questions and answers.  The program is old started with a different operating system. She now uses Leopard.  But the old program now keeps on crashing. We can't figure out where she got it from.  When I check obout this program I just get info about powerpoint.   Does anyone have a suggestion of a Jeopardy program to use?  I don't know where else to ask but this group has been so helpful in the past.

2008 / flip video for macintosh

With a young grandchild, I was considering buying a flip video.  There seems to be some problems with the Mac rather than pc. Are there easily overcome?  Do people like the newer version with the rechargeable batteries better than the old version?  Thank you.

Thank you.  I think you are right.  I looked in the address book and my e-mail address as well as his was listed on his card.  I deleted my email address from his card.  I don't know how or when I put it there and I never thought to look there.  I am impressed.  Thanks again.

Hi,
In many of the e-mails I receive from many different people on the top of the e-mail the header states it is addressed to my friend and not me such as:
   Subject:    VersionTracker Palm OS Weekly Mailing
   From:    list@versiontracker.com
   Date:    May 31, 2008 11:17:15 AM EDT
   To:            james smith
   Reply-To:    list@versiontracker.com
rather than
   Subject:    VersionTracker Palm OS Weekly Mailing
   From:    list@versiontracker.com
   Date:    May 31, 2008 11:17:15 AM EDT
   To:            ilw-00
   Reply-To:    list@versiontracker.com
When I click on the name james smith, there are two lines one with my e-mail address checked and one with james smith's e-mail address not checked.  
When I am sent a cc or an e-mail, the heading says cc james smith and not to me.  This is not serious but annoying.  This has just started this week.  To the best of my knowledge, I have not changed any settings and have not received any e-mails from james smith.

2008 / I want to copy off TiVo to my wireless network.

Hi,
On Toast 9 is a program tivo transfer.  It shows you via your wireless network what is on tivo and you can click on what you want to transfer to your hard drive. From you mac I assume you can burn a  disc.   It is very simple and straight forward.  I had no difficulty setting it up. I had heard of problems with a previous version of Toast.  I was told by the company that if it didn't work, I could return it within thirty days and get my money back. ilw-00

Hi,
I have a macbookpro, tivo and a wireless network.  Using Toast 9 I have no problem saving tv show or non protected movies such as Caberet, Nashville on my hard drive.  I assume I could easily burn them to a cd or dvd .ilw-00

2008 / repairing permissions

Permissons repaired but Powerpoint is still crashing.  My wife and  each have a MacbookPro using system 10.5.2 and using Microsoft Powerpoint X for the Mac Service release 1.  The same Powerpoint presentation crashes on her computer but is fine on mine. I tried repairing permissions and went to the Microsoft website to see if there was an update for this old program but they say the page doesn't exist.  I was trying to figure out how to remove her powerpoint and reinstall it.  I also put the preferences in the trash.  Any other suggestions?  Thank you

Hi,
I am having a problem with Powerpoint crashing.  The first thing I wanted to do is repair permissions.  When I try it says it will take less than a minute but the bar goes about 1/3 the way over and if I wait 10 minutes nothing happens.  What does this mean?  Any suggestions?  Thank you.
