Tech / Adobe Flash "poltergeist" on a DT

There was nuthin' in the Downloads Folder . . . nor could Spotlight find anything related, anywhere. I did all that before posting here.
I had no idea that something might be lodged in the Application Support Folder of the Library. Unfortunately, no such folder was found therein.
Yes, there is a screen shot . . . I don't have it yet, when I get it, I'll amend this post with it.
However, I stumbled on (a) solution, mostly by good luck. Sorting over the alternatives I'd already pursued, I speculated that something might be "stuck" (technical term) in the Desktop/Screen Savers Prefs folder. Bingo. There IT was, NOT in the thumbnails, just resting in the little display window.
So I had my friend (we were doing this by sharing screens in Messages) select one of the default pics and voilà . . . it evaporated from the Prefs Folder – where it appeared to have precisely the same ghostly-overlay character as was the one on the Finder/Display)
