Hey, Mark!

Good to "see" you.

How come you aren't rooting for the DUCKS? wink.gif

They won today, BTW.

Say "HI!" to Mary for me.

Hope you're coming out here this summer!

Crabs await. smile.gif

Yep! You're right as always...

I would tend to agree with that statement, though from what others tell me, you must have me confued with some other "Mark". dntknw.gif

Thanks for the welcome after throwing down what must be considered harsh words but still a reality even with Dukes early dismissal.  At least it was a 'game'  doh.gif

I saw the fix it slideshow before I came here. I jusdt wanted to get a feel for how hard it was. Sometimes the pix make it look hard, sometimes they make it look all to easy.

Kinda like asking how hard skydiving is ... need a push eek2.gif

It would all depend on your skill set(s) and patience and whether or not the cat thinks the removed parts are good toys ohmy.gif   Tedious more than hard, esp. the 1st time.

I poked around for a while and could not find anything on this. My clamshell's (300mhz g3) HD died, rather, got killed. Authorities have identified a 14.4 volt cordless drill as the intrument of death. It was dropped on it and yes, I am the same guy  idiot who spilled tea on the keyboard a few weeks ago)

Anyway, it won't erase, or reinstall or anything and the instructions for replacing it look like a BPITA  sad.gif  I am wondering is it worth the trouble?
Could I just get a nice portable usb drive and boot from that?
Should I just get a used laptop and sell this to someone who does this kind of stuff?
I used this for very basic stuff only and the speed has been more great.
(thanks to adding  512 mem upgrade recommended here) smile.gif

I suspect the key will be for him to turn it off or take it offline.

Can't that printer be taken off of the network in Sys Prefs > Sharing > Printers?

I think ".usa" is now available, also. Not sure what it's supposed to stand for. dntknw.gif

If you use the ".usa" and pay an additional fee you can get your info passed through Langley and Fort Meade up to 1ms quicker  whew.gif

Depends on how many socks are missing?

I'm not your father, MarkM! Although I have two; one won't call/email/write ( too busy with school! rolleyes.gif ), the other wants to take my Grand Daughters even farther away from me! sad.gif With that much abuse, I don't need another Son! tongue.gif

You know Xdaddy, for a new Prius and the display indicated above I'll be the daughter you always wanted ... at least till after dinner jawdrop.gif

An update on the sock search:

last search was;

"lost sock +laundry room - rest of house - dryer -basket -shelf - floor -behind -door -wall -closet -pantry -hamper -box -bag -shoe -sack +pocket"

and yeilds but 3 pages, so I'm almost there ... next will be Google maps.

OK, so I used the Google to search for a lost sock and typed in;

"lost sock" = about 1,560,000 English pages

"lost sock + laundry room" =about 845,000

"lost sock + laundry room -rest of  house" = about 599,000 English pages

"lost sock +laundry room - rest of house - dryer " =about 118,000 English pages

"lost sock +laundry room - rest of house - dryer -basket" =about 63,600 English pages

A few more tries and I'll find that bugger!

2007 / strange lines in PS images

I should mention that my video card is only 64 megs (GeForce FX 5200).  Can't see why that  would be a problem though.
You mentioned display colors.  Just checked and it is set to Thousands.  Moved it to Millions and I can't seem to reproduce the problems with lines.  Could that have been it?

That it could.

Viewsonic.  I just tried it both in 1280 x 960 AND 1280X1024 (I take this as native res?) and the lines appeared in both (I always run 1280x1024).  I did notice that the lines only seem to appear when zooming in the image.  Also, the lines go outside of the actual image to the edges of the PS window of the image.  Mousing over (without clicking) seems to act as an eraser on the lines.  I tried images at 300 and 180 for res.  Lines occured on both.

I'll assume you have a regular 4:3 display and not a "widescreen". What are the other choices checked at in the display pref's - ie color ?  Which version of PS are you using; was it installed after the OS installed; is it up to date?
