It all depends on his Mac model. If it's a really old model, like for instance a Snow iMac, your friend might be better off with Panther. But for sure OS X in many cases is zippier than OS 9.

My friend's MAC is aa G4 PowerMac Tower  - got it in CY 2000  - I think it is an AGP model (??) and he has 640 mb RAM - running OS 9.2.2.

2006 / sluggish keystrokes

Am trying to convince friend of mine to upgrade to OS X but he is leery. Ever since he upgraded to OS 9.2.2 he experiences veery slow keystrokes when trying to compose email in his Entourage program. Gets extremely slow response until he does a restart - and then things seem to clear up.

Any clues onhow I can help him or advise him.
