Welcome to TS Tammy. I don't have an answer for you, but I'm sure someone smarter than me will help you out on Sunday or Monday.

Thanks for the welcome. I sure hope someone can help me.

Sorry it was Snow Leopard not Snow Lion, lol. Apple helped me install it so I have no idea if it was backed up. Although, I did ask them if we had to uninstall Leopard before installing Maverick and they said no. I have 419.42 GB of 499.25 GB of hard drive left.
Sorry I am not computer savy so excuse me when i ask what is a cloned backup? Should I uninstall Maverick? Thanks for your help.

Tech / Can connect wireless but not wired

Hi I am very frustrated please help. Thursday my computer was working fine. Then I decided to upgrade from snow lion to maverick. As soon as I finished downloading and installing my imac will not connect via Ethernet. It will however connect wireless. I spent countless hours with internet provider and Apple. Everything with internet is working. I can connect a dell laptop via Ethernet and wireless with no problem. Apple says my port is probably bad. I just find it hard to believe that as soon as i installed Maverick I started having trouble with Ethernet. Could they be correct. I am no tech but I seem to think it is because of upgrade. I also bought new Ethernet cable just in case.

Thanks for any help.
