Community / Bobun is 95 today!
« on: July 10, 2013, 12:29:08 PM »
I wish to extend my thanks for the kind congratulations extended by all. I'm not big for Birthday parties, yet with two loving
and lovely daughters , three grandchildren and one great grandchild, my 95 years have been worthwhile. Being married to
the most fantastic woman, the children will bear me out on that,  and two of the dearest daughters who can't do enough for me; I hope my luck doesn't change. My salute to all you lovely people. Bobun  biggrin.gif

Community / HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOBUN!
« on: July 17, 2010, 04:07:19 PM »
To; TS Bear; Please accept appreciation for your congratulation and those of you who also took the time to wish me well.
As Yogi Berra  would say,"When you come to a fork in the road -Take it" and Mickey Mantle is credited with " If I knew I was gonna live this long' I wooda taken better care of myself". If I can't remember something, I just FORGET IT. Somehow I
think the power above is saying, " You'll stay there until you get it right". At any rate-92 was not the age I expected to reach
hence I lived it with little concern for endurance. Actually I must admit to feeling years younger than this.  Where did they go?
I give much credit to Bunny and our three children. Hey Dick; I love the poem. You have a way with words. Love you-all. Bobun.

« on: February 12, 2009, 11:08:33 AM »
Dear TS Bear,
Thanks for the initial posting and to you, kind TS Members a heartfelt, THANK YOU.  Bunny & I share one or two solid philosophies; one is....marriage is more a matter of perspiration than inspiration. I'm content, the angels must have sent her (Bunny) and they meant her just for me.  67 years; how time flies!!!!
TS Bear is so attentive to Mom & me. We love her dearly. Bobun.

Many thanks to all of you well wishers and Kris of course for the banner. We heartily concur with Dick's assessment of our krissel. She is a blessing to us and we wish all parents could have a daughter like her.

Kris didn't know it but we travelled down Route 66 while Bunny and I lived on the post at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 1943. So that reference has a lot more meaning for us than one would guess.

Here's something to think about...one day back then, we were driving down Route 66 and  commented that "Wouldn't it be funny if we stayed married for 66 years."
Little did we know it would come true.

Now we drive down Route 78... hmmmm.  Thinking.gif

All done. Basically you have to click on the T tool and choose "Touchup Text Tool" then click on the area and edit. Took one minute.

It's on its way to you now.

2006 / OT: Happy Birthday Bobun
« on: July 10, 2006, 11:18:07 AM »
It seems only yesterday, I was still in my teens. It my anticipated life expectancy was to reach 30. That wasn't the first estimate I stubbed my toe on. It was kind of you-all to take the time to wish me well. Come to think of it,
88 has always had a good sound. My wisdom tells me to return to a more
conservative estimate as my future. With TS Bear to guide and family to love;
it makes me grateful to my genes and much luck. PS:  Sweeten all above with
a generous (64 years) of marriage to Bunny. A WINNING COMBO.

biggrin.gif  flower-smilie.gif  biggrin.gif Mom & Dad have already personally wished you the best of
available opportunities over the years. You have always done well with the
ones that appeared. We are so proud of you and so pleased that you permitted
or rather encouraged us to join TS as members. A finer group doesn't exist.
Don't change. Stay as sweet as you are.
 HAPPY BIRTHDAY. WE LOVE YOU.

(this is krissel posting under my Dad's identity)

Lorraine, they've been having trouble with their server lately (trying to upgrade) and have had a lot of dead links. Just keep trying and it will eventually connect.

The forum for CafePress is loaded with store owners complaining (and many suggesting they move to a Unix server and dump Windows).

2004 / For those who know HTML-Can you figure this out?

Gary, glad it works for you and you are  biggrin.gif .

I'm at my folks' house now and tried the site in Safari and it reads the home page OK but I noticed on the galleries page that it is OK if the window size is kept at about the size of a 15 " monitor but as soon as the window is enlarged past that point it jumps off to the side and the side-scroll appears. Font prefs are
Times 16 for standard
Courier 13 for fixed width
Encoding Western (ISO latin1)

In IE 5.2.1 for X the home page is not right (the text is in a very skinny vertical line) but the galleries pages is fine no matter how large the window.
Settings are:
Font size 16   Resolution 96
Western (Latin 1)
Prop- Times New Roman
Sans serif-Arial
Serif-Times New Roman
Monospace-Courier New
Cursive-Brush Script MT
Fantasy-Comis Sans MS

Very curious. Now if we can figure out the commonality or difference at the crucial point we would be satisfied.

2003 / how to.........
« on: December 25, 2003, 10:28:47 PM »
The best way to track down your earlier post is to go HERE.

These are the archives of all threads from the first three years of TS. Most likely the question you asked is there.

Click on the SEARCH link at the top of the page and enter "Internet Explorer" in the subject and your old username in the member box. I tried it with bvjo but got no response, then I remembered that you used to have a different name but couldn't remember what it was.

Let us know if you find what you are looking for.

My grin is as wide as a mile,as they say. I've been a "peddler" since
1949 and firmly believe in advertising-tastefully. This is tasteful and so
in keeping with our Krissel and Techsurvivors. When my gear gets here,
I intend to wear it and when a passerby asks "What is Techsurvivors?",
the reply will be "I'm glad you asked that question"; Hope you're in no rush. I knew a sharp group like TS would appreciate it.
I love it.  Bobun.

2003 / A little bit of help please

( krissel posting under Dad's log-in... )

Yippee, am at my folks and they all loaded fine and are beautiful.  biggrin.gif

Favorite 13

1,3,14,17,18,19,20,22,27,3a,4a,5a, (toss up on 23 or 26)

NOTE:
I picked 13 because you can have one for each month and one for the cover of the calendar.

smile.gif

Suggest #1 for the cover. Also rubber stamp out the light spot or reflection on the tree in #27.

Also, #18  and 2a are the exact same picture.     wink.gif

Very Interesting, The many reactions to this Phenomenon.
I'd like to throw in the thought that this might involve a
visitation from an alien visitor. Hey! are you certain it can't be? welcome.gif  welcome.gif  welcome.gif Tee Hee.
