OK, so Jack and Vijay, are either of you going to give yourself a treat?  smile.gif

I'll wait for the MacBook Pro refresh. Maybe Jack's buying an iMac? biggrin.gif

That'll give me time to ponder the final decision, and give Apple a little time to update the iMac line. ???

Looks like your dream became reality! biggrin.gif http://www.apple.com/imac/

Jack W: The i7 is just $200 more. It would be 8 cores with 4 physical and 4 virtual. Is Apple refreshing their older Macs this July?

tacit: WOW! Just what I expected! Thank you.  smile.gif

MamaMoose: I can afford the i7 and the 8 GB of RAM but the SSD is out of reach for me. The 500 GB 7200 RPM HD should do. Have fun with your Mac.  smile.gif

Hey guys.

I'm thinking of getting a new Mac, either an iMac or a MacBook Pro. I was wondering if there was any advantage in getting the i7 version. Anybody know? I do RAW photo editing in Lightroom/Photoshop.

Thank you! smile.gif

My Mom goes by the name "bunny" in life and here at TS.  She had open heart surgery over 4 years ago and has been struggling with other physical problems but goes to therapy and is still mentally very sharp. Your pictures are very interesting. I had to Google Chennai Photowalk to find out exactly what it was. Pretty cool idea. I suppose some people might get a bit upset if they find themselves the object of several photographers. Kind of like the paparazzi that stalk celebrities but these are everyday people. Not sure you could get away with that here without asking first. Jennie sort of "retired" from active membership at TS. We had a change in some of the administration a couple years ago and some members are no longer very active but we have new contributors to keep the advice coming for those who need it. We also decided to split the forums to keep the tech stuff apart from the chatty posts. Seems to be working pretty well and we will be celebrating our 9th anniversary next week.
Thanks for the info on your mom.Yes, there was a big fight on the organizer's blog about the very same thing. We do follow etiquette, but some people are just "anal."

Krissel - I'm glad to have my Birthday Thread hijacked if it brought ViJay out; I thought those are some great photos at his Flickr page!

Technically she is registered but doesn't post.  Her arthritis makes it really difficult to type but she enjoys reading some of the threads. She occasionally asks about some members and your name is often mentioned. After her heart surgery a few years ago she noticeably perked up when she was following some TS threads where you posted. I remember her commenting on what a fine young man you were and she hoped you would find success.

Which leads me to ask, can you fill us in a bit on your adventures? dntknw.gif

Perked up, eh? LOL. Wonder what I had posted.  toothgrin.gif I hope she's doing OK now. What's her TS handle?

Well, I am busy taking photographs. You can see them at my Flickr.

BTW, where's Jenny (jepinto)??

Hey guys, thanks! smile.gif

Jean told me about this thread. Sorry I don't visit much. Will try to in the future. smile.gif

Jean, the city I stay with my dad is called Madras and the one I am riding to tomorrow is called Bangalore.

You all can see what I am upto by visiting my weblog; the url is in below.

P.S. There's lots of profanity and other socially unacceptable stuff going on at my weblog, so consider this as fair warning.

Yep, it's DiskWarrior. I don't remember what that flashing icon means, but try this. Turn of the "disk protection" option in DiskWarrior. It can't protect the disk when running under classic mode.

That's window resizing, Jean.

Harv is talking about dragging/moving the window around on the screen.
