After many system freezes or black screens with no restart except by unplugging I used the Knowledge base doc 106704. At first I typed "sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions" and pressed return, was asked for password.
I then realized that I had not typed the remainder "AppleNDRVDriver.bundle users/shared". Pushed return and came back "no such file". If I restart now will I be hosed?

2003 / What did Norton do?
« on: July 17, 2003, 04:16:54 AM »
I have OS X 2.6 and Netscape 7.1 and all was working fine. Last week I ran fsck and found a missing thread and 3 files that had the wrong totals. After using fsck many times I booted from the CD and ran Diskfirst aid. Sated that system was repaired. Fack reported the same problem so I booted in the Norton Disk Doctor and the problems were fixed. Fsck reports all is well. My Netscape now looks washed out, the icons look different and the print icon looks like stop light. I have reinstalled Netscape but problem is still there. Netscape works OK but looks really funky.
What can I do to fix this? ohmy.gif

2003 / What\'s the best way to run fsck -y?
« on: July 09, 2003, 10:41:48 AM »

When I I ran fsck -y it used to fix problems, now it shows a missing thread and the wrong file sizes. Then it shows it repairing these but when you run fsck -y again it reports the same errors. I used the Disk Utility from the CD and repaired it but fsck -y still shows the same errors. Any ideas?

2003 / Spin Doctor Problem
« on: May 12, 2003, 08:59:04 PM »
I have a beige G3 266/420  running both OS 9.2.2 and OS X 2.2.6 on a 100 gig hard drive. I have them on differant partetions. When I record with Roxio's Spin Doctor 1.5.1 in OS 9,  I can monitor the sound. When I switch to OS X I hear no sound while recording. When I end recording and play back I have sound. Any help? wallbash.gif
