2008 / Change text colors instead of color labels
« on: May 28, 2008, 03:26:51 AM »
Hi all... I have OSX10.4.11 and I see that we cannot change text color for desktop... only white! I do not like to label those in color but want to change text color not the lablel color. Do we have a feature that change the text color? Thanks

Don't know why the command-tab thing is not used more. dntknw.gif

I believe the keys you can assign must be different than the ones used by the OS and even most Apple apps. But all you may need to do is add another modifier key ( option, shift, control ) or two to the key you want to use. Give that a try and report back with your results, please. smile.gif

There are many ( program launching ) apps that will you assign key-strokes to do the launching. I use MaxMenus but find it just as easy to select one from the menu as trying to remember what key-stroke I might apply... dntknw.gif But key-stroke commands are often over-looked and little used by many Mac users, IMHO.

Speaking of Command+Tab, using this keys, you need to open any applications first... like if your Appleworks, Firefox, Quickens are opened, and when one of your applications is front of you, and you want to switch to other application, you just press Command (or Apple) key and Tab... then hold Command and tab till you pick the application to bring up front of you.

I have used Dragthing for a while now and find it to be indispensable. It will allow you to assign keyboard shortcuts to applications that you have in it's dock.

Thanks, and I tried this url=http://www.dragthing.com/]Dragthing[/url].  I like it but I don't  care to have too many little applications.

Accidently, I was using Apple key + Tab, it appeared the open applications on front of you, and you tab till you want to view.  Cool feature?

I will try to figure out this stubborn thing!  Look.gif

2006 / Keyboard Shortcuts
« on: October 15, 2006, 11:14:28 PM »
I am experimenting with Keyboard Shortcuts.... like I want to use a keyboard shortcut for iChat application.  I did add iChat application and typed exact the name of this application, and chose my keyboard shortcut like F1 under Keyboard & Mouse Prefs (Application Keyboard  Shortcuts) in System Preferences.   Nothing happens.  I checked with  a friend of mine who also has iMac. Nothing happens, too.

How can we make it work?   huh.gif

2006 / New Cursors for Mac OSX 10.4
« on: September 07, 2006, 04:09:26 PM »
Sigh, dissappointed that Apple doesn't have any helpful instructions or tutorials on making new cursors.  There are soooo many cursor softwares to make (create) new cursors for Windows, and none for Mac OSX.  I wonder why.

Thanks for the info but I believe Cursor Editor software is for Windows, not Mac. What I am saying is that I wanted to create my own cursors without software.  What do you mean MM? What is it?

Been looking for instructions or tutorial on how to make (create) new cursors instead of using Mighty Mouse software.  Do you know where to find? Thanks!

2006 / DVDs won't burn
« on: June 12, 2006, 09:12:06 AM »
A friend of mine had a similar problem, and suggests to try that:

Restart your computer, when computer chimes during restart, press and HOLD these keys: "Apple + Option + P + R". Continue to hold all four keys and wait for the computer to chime three more times, there is a small interval between each chime as it is resetting the video memory and something else.

After the 3rd chime, you can release the keys and start up as normal, test your DVD burner again and see if it's working.

So try that, and good luck.

2003 / ISP and Broswers
« on: December 31, 2003, 03:42:59 PM »
Hey, guys... got it solved... what I did is just simply to put  the server addresses in TCP/IP as you said.  My ISP said that I don't need to put those server addresses because it will set the DNS information automatically at first place. Guess it does not work for my TCP/IP.  Now, I can browse my websites on New Year's Day!  Many thanks to you all, and have a great Happy 2004!   thumbup.gif

Thanks for your suggestion.  I forgot to mention ..  after I had trouble to surf websites via a new ISP, and I change to my old ISP, and it occurs the same problem.  Before I add a new ISP, I had no problem to surf with my old ISP, and after adding a new ISP, I cannot surf with both old and new ISP!  Sigh...  wallbash.gif  wallbash.gif  wallbash.gif

2003 / Keyspan USB/Firewire pci card
« on: August 14, 2003, 09:51:51 AM »
I got a Keyspan USB/Firewire pci card for my Power Macintosh G3 Beige, Rev. A with OS 8.6, from Pagecomputers, and read its requirements on the back of package. It says that it is compatible for Mac with OS 8.6 or higher and Rev. B ONLY which it did not mention on website. huh.gif  I called Keyspan and learned that it is a typo error on the package, and it is compatible for Mac 9500 or later.  I am not too sure yet.. Thinking.gif  ....so I am asking any of you who has Power Macintosh G3, Rev. A and Keyspan USB/Firewire pci card installed.  I would appreciate to hear from you!  smile.gif
